OCCFA’s Mission, Purpose and Vision

OCCFA, the Oakton Community College Faculty Association, in affiliation with the Illinois Education Association/National Education Association, is organized under the laws of the State of Illinois.

OCCFA operates and functions as a professional association of college teachers employed by Oakton Community College (Community College District No. 535 of Illinois), whose purpose is to engage in any and all activities that promote higher education and the professional welfare of its members.  We believe that only through strong shared governance that fully involves faculty in the academic decision-making process are students’ educational needs best served.

As the representative of the full-time faculty of Oakton Community College, OCCFA seeks to better serve the residents of Community College District No. 535 and the educational needs of its students by promoting and striving for a harmonious working relationship with the administration and the Board of Trustees of Oakton Community College.

OCCFA is governed by a Board of Officers and Faculty Senate.
